Current Highlights Next Morgan County GOP Event: Please join us on Monday, July 12 6:30 PM at the home of Jerry and Margaret Caldwell, 780 Dixie Avenue in Madison to meet our local candidates. Scheduled to speak are BOE District 4 candidates Andrew Ainslie and Tim Ligon, District 5 BOE candidates Dave Belton and Eloise Grubaugh and State Representative candidates Hank Huckaby, Tommy Malcom and Kirk Shook. June State Candidate Meeting More than 100 Republicans met with us in June at the High School to hear from our statewide candidates. Speaking were Eric Johnson and Karen Handel for Governor, Max Wood for Attorney General, GerryPurcell and Ralph Hudgens for Insurance Commissioner and John Douglas for Public Service Commission. Jail Preview Sheriff Robert Markley hosted a group of 150 Republicans for a spoecial preview and tour of our new county jail. Congressman Nathan Deal, candidate for Governor, also joined us for this special event. President's Day Banquet An overflow crowd joined us to celebrate President's Day at our annual banquet at Bonner's Restaurant on February 15. U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson deliverred the keynote address and Barbara Tamplin presented an interesting look at life and times of our 10th President, John Tyler.
